OMGA Report-Janice Gregg
OSU is hiring a new President and a few other top positions. This may or may not affect our department.
It is suggested by OMGA that each county do an audit each year. Linn just had one done.
There will be an educational forum by OMGA in March. It is on the same date as the Bee Event so we will not be sending anyone.
Mini college: Janice has volunteered Linn County to decorate for the mini college banquet. We receive a $100 budget for decorating. Mini college is Friday and Saturday, July 24 & 25th. At 1:00 on Thursday is the OMGA board meeting and then Thursday evening is a welcome banquet. It will be held at the alumni center on the OSU campus in Corvallis. There are rooms available at the Hilton next door and some of the dorm rooms if anyone wants to spend the night. Friday parking will be $10 but Saturday is free parking.
Record Keeping-Brenda Winslow
We now have all our board meeting notes put online with Elizabeth. We also have a memory stick with all notes and a book with paper copies of everything. The question was "How long does the secretary have to keep back records"? We currently have paper copies back to 2009 and stick copies back to 2008. After a discussion a motion was made and passed that all paper copies of the board minutes are to be kept for 2 years. The memory stick will keep all past minutes on it.
All old paper board minutes will be given to Elizabeth Records. Larry Landis is the Special Collections and Archives person for OSU. He maintains papers in the campus library. Elizabeth can give them to him to save.
Bee Conference-Susan Morton
The committee is working on getting a couple nurseries to come that have native plants.
They are still working on a speaker with the Oregon Dept of Agriculture.
Planning is going well and Ranee Webb, Susan and Rich Little are about the finalize the agenda so that Elizabeth can open registration.
There is a woman who came to the bee event several years ago and has started a cocoon business. She contacted Rich and has so many cocoons that she is donating 4000 cocoons to Linn County because we were the ones that got her started. Rich has a poor harvest this year so they are happy for the extra cocoons.
January 1st is when they want registration to open. There will be catering choices for lunch again. Ann Capps is still looking for a caterer that will have biodegradable container s for the lunch, instead of styrophoam.
Equipment check-out book in the office-Betty Goergen
Betty purchased sets of cords for each computer and projector. Every piece of equipment now has every cord needed and they are listed on the check out pages in the book. The Equipment Checkout Book will be on top of the cupboard where the equipment is kept.
General Membership Meetings-Randy Peckham
Randy talked about the schedule coming out for the new year.
Membership meetings are the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Albany library. Doors open at 6 and the talks start at 6:30. The public is welcome to these meeting and they qualify for educational hours for Master Gardeners.
Randy is looking for ways to advertise the meetings for the general public.

Bee Supplies-Ranee Webb
We have new wood workers that have started building bee supplies for the 2020 year. She is trying to increase the number of supplies and cocoons available as sales are increasing. Bee notes is an email that is sent to 675 people, reaching approximately 1,000 area residents with news about bees.
There are now several groups from other counties and states that have learned about mason bees from Linn county and are starting their own projects. It is growing fast and she is always looking for more supplies and more volunteers.
