Dana Ross, M.S. Entomologist
Dana Ross (M.S.) is a professional entomologist who specializes in butterflies and moths of the Pacific Northwest. He transformed a pastime as a collector of insects into a freelance career performing butterfly and moth inventories, rare species surveys, and field course instruction.
Dana is a frequent advisor and contributor to regional publications on Lepidoptera which includes co-authorship of the 2026 Butterflies of Oregon atlas. He oversees the Siskiyou Crest Moth Project for the Siskiyou Crest Coalition and volunteers much of his time at the Oregon State Arthropod Collection in the Dept. of Integrative Biology at Oregon State University.
